Threadlock is an independent, privately-owned company building encryption tools that put people back in control of their own data.
Most apps ask you to trust them with everything — your messages, your files, your passwords — and hope they handle it responsibly. We built Threadlock the opposite way. Your information is encrypted on your device, with keys only you hold, before it ever reaches our servers. We can't read your content even if we wanted to, because it never leaves your control in a form we could open.
That's not a marketing promise — it's how the software is architected. Zero-knowledge by design. Encrypt. Send. Protect.
Your content is encrypted before it leaves your device. No tracking, no ads, no selling data — ever.
We tell you exactly what we can and can't see. No "unhackable" claims — just real, verifiable protection.
Engineered in the United States by an independent team that believes strong encryption is worth building at home.
Security that doesn't slow you down. Encryption on every message, with none of the bloat.
Privately owned. Not beholden to advertisers, data brokers, or anyone whose interests aren't yours.
Built carefully, tested honestly, and shipped only when it's ready to protect real people.
Threadlock is privately owned and operated in the United States. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the U.S. government or any government agency. We just love our country and believe privacy is worth defending.
Join our community →Threadlock started with a simple frustration. The Founder kept watching the apps everyone relied on treat privacy as an afterthought — collecting everything, selling what they could, and asking people to just trust them with the rest. It felt backwards. Security shouldn't be a promise you hope a company keeps. It should be built into the software itself, so that trust isn't even required.
So the Founder started building — not another app that says it protects you, but one engineered from the ground up so that your data stays yours by design. Messages, files, and passwords encrypted on your own device, with keys only you hold. A tool where the company genuinely can't read your content, because it was never handed the ability to.
The Co-Founder came on to build it alongside them — turning that idea into a real, working platform, piece by piece. Together they shaped Threadlock into what it is now: an independent, American-built security company with one stubborn belief at its core — that strong, honest encryption is worth building right, here at home.
We're a small, independent team. We don't answer to advertisers or data brokers. We answer to the people who trust us with their privacy — and we built Threadlock so we'd never have to ask you to just take our word for it.
