Hey! How's it going?
Good! Just working on a few things.
Nice. Let me know if you need anything.
Will do 🔒
Type an encrypted message…
Your data. Your control.

We don't store your content.

Messages, files, and vault entries are encrypted on your device before they ever leave it. Your keys never touch our servers — so no one, not even us, can read what you lock.

Zero-knowledge by design

Privacy that isn't
just a promise.

Most apps say they protect you. Threadlock is built so we can't read your data even if we wanted to — because your keys never leave your device.

  • AES-256-GCM encryption
  • Passcodes hashed with PBKDF2, never stored
  • Decoy mode & duress codes
  • No tracking, no ads, ever

Questions

Frequently asked.

Is Threadlock really free?

Yes. The core platform is free forever — no card, no trial. We may add optional paid extras later, but privacy and encryption are never behind a paywall.

What does "zero-knowledge" actually mean?

Your messages, files, and vault entries are encrypted on your device with a key derived from your passcode. That key never reaches our servers, so we only ever hold unreadable ciphertext. We can't read your content, and we can't hand it over.

What if I forget my passcode?

Use a recovery code you saved, or an admin can reset it. Passcodes themselves can't be recovered, only reset — that's by design, and it's what keeps them safe.

Can I use it for my business?

Yes. Create a business account, share one join code, and manage your team in a private encrypted workspace. There's a separate business sign-in built just for that.

Do you track me or show ads?

No tracking, no ads, ever. We don't sell data — encrypted or otherwise — and there's nothing to sell, since we can't read it.
